OC x London Collections: Men - Shaun Samson FW13

Yesterday was the turn of SHAUN SAMSON (OC’s favorite breakout designer of 2012) to showcase his Fall/Winter 2013 collection. Freezing temperatures were his totally weather-appropriate inspiration, with models donning furry ear muffs, oversized ice hockey shirts, and cable knits. He stuck to his signature loose streetwear silhouettes, featuring winter sports shapes and blending unexpected fabrics from loopback jersey to leather––something of a Shaun Samson signature. Some of the fabrics even mirrored the texture of ice, the most stand-out being a purple hologram-like coated nylon, which was used on a gilet and a jacket. There were also nods to urban subculture, with some models wearing backwards snapbacks. (Would it be a Shaun Samson show without them?) The winter chill was definitely the dominating theme, but the overall reaction to the show was anything but icy. Nicely done, Shaun!
