'Locals Only' is a column in which we ask friends from Argentina, our featured country, where they like to eat, thrift, hideout, and hang out when visiting their homeland.
Having photographed some of the greatest fashion editorials in the game, Sebastian Faena constantly stops us in our tracks whenever we flick through an issue of V Magazine, Pop or Vogue. Whether it's his tongue-in-cheek shoot of Dree, Eniko, and Alessandra as football wives; Naomi as a nun; or that Gaga spread––Señor Faena never fails to impress. Check out Sebastian's favorite Buenos Aires (and Uruguayan) spots below.
Place for a low-key dinner with friends: Room service at Faena hotel.
Barrio to spend your Sunday: San Telmo market has nostalgia to die for.
Clothing store: AY not dead! Their jeans are PERFECTISSIMOS!
Best alfajor cookie: I love every kind of alfajor. [The brand] Habana de Dulce de Leche is a dream, but I also love Terrabusi and Suchard. Alfajores are such an important thing.
Spot to babe watch: Punta del Este. It might be wrong to consider it Buenos Aires since it's a totally different country and all, but still!
Place for a weekend getaway: Punta del Este!
What is the one thing you always bring back with you from visiting Argentina? A big head filled with tons of pride!
