Earlier this month, OC online editorial collaborators Haw-lin Services created a special in-store installation at Marsano Berlin featuring dried flowers and stunning reflective architectural structures. The creatives behind the pseudonym, Nathan Cowen and Jacob Klein, share the story with us below.

Marsano is a high-end flower and interior design and styling boutique located in Berlin. From September 2012 to January 2013, they've created a pop-up shop where, every three weeks, they've invited different artists to develop an installation that integrates elements of Marsano in some way.

Time, sustainability, and consumption provided the framework for ours. Dried flowers were used in order to maintain a consistent and unchanging environment. Two screens present different, seemingly unchanging bouquets of dried flowers. Subtle signs of movement occur between each transition, suggesting an eventual conclusion, all the while remaning a never-ending buildup.

The mirrored pedestals form a hallow monument that supports the false idea of time-based change, which is normally associated with flowers. The reflections force the audience to visually interact with the installation, referencing the actual construction of the piece. Geometric shapes, organic forms, color, and size were combined in a purely aesthetic exploration. Have a look at the images below.
