Fine Wine: Happy Birthday, Lisa Bonet!

Aging like a fine wine, Lisa Bonet turns 45 today. And while she’s had three children, two name changes, and one marriage to Lenny Kravitz, she sure shows no signs of aging. Similarly timeless is her crazy style. Lisa entered our lives as Denise Huxtable, the free-spirited eldest daughter on The Cosby Show. She was that cool older sister we never had: she was popular at school, had an amazing wardrobe, ever-changing hairstyles, and a cute new boyfriend every episode. In the early days, Lisa was the teenage symbol of 80s flair thanks to outfits that were all about prints, denim, brogues, and oversized patterned sweaters (possibly borrowed from papa cosby himself). At 20, married to Lenny Kravitz, Lisa embraced the boho-grunge look, flashing a side-boob here and there, and draping jewelry in mass quantities. After incorporating floppy hats, long layers, and edgy hair to her look, a name change seemed like the next appropriate step, and Lisa became Lilakoi Moon—fitting for her earth-mother guise. What we would give to spend a day going through her wardrobe. Happy birthday, Lisa!
