It's only November 5th, but I'm going to talk about the holidays (don't hate me). Blame James Long's metallic hot pink skirt. It's just so special and shiny it couldn't not make you think of whatever parties you have penciled in for this year. In fact, James' whole Fall/Winter 2012 collection is made up of those pieces you bring out when you know there will be photos every ten minutes. The X(-mas) factor is the hand detailing: one sheer blouse and a matching pair of pants are embroidered with intricate patterns in gold thread, tufted wool, and zigzags of metallic sequins. James also made two shirts exclusively for OC. Riffing on a much-loved shirt he made for his fall collection last year, James added dramatic striped tassels to sheer button-downs. Wrapping things up, James' trademark knitwear comes blocked with panels of different stitches this season. Fuchsia herringbone, fluffly mohair, and soft cable-knit make them an infinitely better bet than your average Christmas sweater.
