Lorelei Marfil is a London-based freelance writer and editor. After visiting the Fair, Lorelei managed to squeeze in a chat with the fair's curator, Sarah McCrory.

Internationally known for her sharp eye for spotting raw talent, London-based Sarah McCrory champions emerging talent like Charles Atlas, Spartacus Chetwynd, and Donald Urquhart. She's spent the last two years cultivating cool talent for Frieze and will now be taking the reins as the Director of the Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art.

Lorelei Marfil: What's on your radar at the moment?
Sarah McCrory: "The Tanks: Art In Action" is very exciting at the Tate. Curated by Stuart Comer and Catherine Wood, they have a very exciting vision and have produced a brilliant, brilliant project. There are some smaller galleries that are quite exciting: The Sunday Painter, Son, and the Arcadia Missa galleries in Peckham have a lot of really exciting young artists coming through so I'm keeping my eye on those.

LM: And, what were some of your favorite events at Frieze Art Fair this year?
SM: Well, I am being biased obviously, but my project! The weeklong program examined the relationship between art and food. There was the dinner and other events like tomato throwing by American visual artist William Pope. L. There were a number of various food projects and another artist made a large crime drama—there was a TV production crew on site making the show!

LM: What are some of your favorite museums and galleries in London and around the world?
SM: I'm more interested in smaller, emerging galleries with interesting rosters. There are some fantastic galleries in Peckham. Some of the larger galleries I like are Herald St in London. In New York, I'm a big fan of White Columns.

LM: And who are some of your favorite artists at the moment?
SM: Thomas Bayrle: he's 75 and is such a generous character. He creates art that is so stunning. And William Tsang who is just one of those artists you come across and you just know that they are going to have an incredible career.

LM: What's on the horizon for you?
SM: This is my last Frieze! It's exciting. I have moved on to be the new director for the Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art.
