The first thing you should know about Aurélie Bidermann is that she has the most adorable, girlish giggle. I could hear it from outside her showroom in Paris. That's how I knew it was the right apartment. The second is that she makes thoughtful, elegant, and witty jewelry that the OC girls can't get enough of. We went to see the new collection last week between appointments, and it was a sweet and lovely moment of girl talk and shop talk in the middle of the day. The new spring pieces were inspired by surf culture. Beach girls and boys in Venice Beach. We talked about how nice it was when an easy breezy surfer girl wears a little shell necklace on a perfectly tanned collarbone... That's the look of this collection, but dipped in gold. Her signature string-braided pieces were there, too, which will be flying off the shelves of her new shop in St. Germain-des-Prés. Aurélie alighted on the word "fresh" to describe this collection. Which we find très, très juste.
