In the bustle before NYFW, we dispatched cameras to a handful of OC designers. The aim: to see how many snacks, coffee runs, and late-night pizzas go into making a collection. So now that we've seen what came down the catwalks, it's time to take a peek behind the scenes!
What's the secret to Patrik's perfection? Possibily dim sum. He sent us through his camera diary and answered some post-show questions below.
Gillian Tozer: Can you please describe your spring collection?
Patrik Ervell: I was thinking about highly technical Californian outdoor clothing companies, like The North Face, and exploring this collision of the outdoor and technical gear.
GT: Do you have a favorite item from the women's collection and from the men's?
PE: I really like the velcro strap sandals for men and women.
GT: What direction did you give Le1f for the show's soundtrack?
PE: I wanted to try something pretty perverse. The original idea was to do a remix of the Enya song "Caribbean Blue." There was also some mid 90s Bone Thugs N Harmony in there. Somehow it all made sense together.
GT: Show's over, now what?
PE: We're already working on Fall/Winter 2013
