Venus, the planet of love, is in the sensitive (and sometimes spaced out) sign of Pisces for Valentine's Day, so make sure you don't forget your special someone this weekend! Luckily, Mercury came out of retrograde on Wednesday, so you should find it much easier to make plans. The two of you will want to melt together forever and forget the rest of the universe under this romantic planetary influence. Unfortunately, Venus in the very last sign of the Zodiac could make you feel extra alone if you don't have V-Day plans. But as soon as Venus enters Aries on February 20, your love life will be reborn.

Aries
(March 21 - April 20)
Venus in Pisces has you feeling unusually sentimental this Valentine's Day. If there's a relationship from the past that you can't get out of your head, plan a group activity with all the single girls you know. Mercury recently came out of retrograde in your 11th house of social activity, so its totally time to reconnect.

Taurus
(April 21 - May 20)
Work was your main source of woe while Mercury was in retrograde, but now that it's totally over you're free to focus on love and romance again. You might find out that you had a secret admirer right under your nose because lovely Venus, who governs all matters of the heart, is in your 11th house of social affairs for Valentine's Day.

Gemini
(May 21 - June 20)
For those of you who are currently entangled: if you've been dating someone but you haven't "updated your relationship status," share with all your friends before Venus leaves Pisces on February 20.

Cancer
(June 21 - July 22)
Your attitude towards love has been totally shifting. In the past you've been pegged as pretty traditional, but your approach to attraction is becoming much more energetic and spiritual these days. Go with the flow this Valentine's Day and your instincts will guide you in the right direction.

Leo
(July 23 - August 22)
For the past month you've been having miscommunications plague all your personal relationships. Thankfully, everything should be cleared up this weekend and you'll be back on track!

Virgo
(August 23 - September 22)
Venus, the planet of love is in your 7th house of relationships for Valentine's Day this year, projecting a loving glow on your weekend and beyond. Enjoy the positive vibes whether or not you are romantically involved.

Libra
(September 23 - October 22)
You probably weren't feeling inspired over the past couple of weeks, but with Mercury moving forward, you've got your groove back in a big way!

Scorpio
(October 23 - November 22)
A stubborn roommate or possibly a boyfriend/girlfriend you share a home with was causing you trouble while Mercury was in retrograde for the past three weeks. Now that the planet of communication is back to its regular bandwidth, you can open up the situation and find a better connection.

Sagittarius
(November 23 - December 21)
Have you felt totally misunderstood for the past three weeks? As Mercury finally moves forward, resend any messages that were lost in translation for a better result.

Capricorn
(December 22 - January 19)
Venus is in Pisces until February 20, giving a Capricorn the chance to express their true feelings

It’s hard to get your hands on a legit gift bag that's filled with all the right goodies. Seriously, we’re usually happy if we manage to score some Kiehl's moisturizer. However, the good ones are out there, they’re just a little harder to secure. Plus, the people that do usually receive them don’t need them, right?

So we decided to team up with our friends over at Spring and Uber to quite literally #UnlockNYFW for everyone else. Yesterday, from 11am until 3pm, anyone could open their Uber app, use the promo code UnlockNYFW, and get their chance at selecting a “Front Row” ticket (aka an Uber car filled with covetable goodies). Remember #UberKittens? It was like that, but bigger and better.

To make up for every weak gift bag we've ever been given, we went pretty wild with our own OC-version. To say the least, we were so excited we couldn’t resist sending along OC staffer Patrick Spears to document the four hours of madness.

Scroll through the pictures above to see the lucky winners and the goodies we gave away.

Opening Ceremony Fall/Winter 2015: The Lookbook

Last night we celebrated the art of film photography with a Fall/Winter 2015 collection that paid tribute to Humberto and Carol’s longtime friend Spike Jonze. Unearthing the multi-hyphenate’s archive of personal photography, we translated never-before-seen, 35-millimeter candids into an offering of unexpected fabrications. Picture outtakes of Björk, Chloë Sevigny, Kim Gordon, and the Beastie Boys fashioned into cut-collages, Jonze’s intimate doodles transformed into jacquards and prints, and abstract contact sheets patterned on Lurex tanks.

As another homage to archival film, the collection builds on the instantly recognizable colors of Kodak, the storied technology brand, with an autumnal palette of camel, ivory, fern green, burnt orange, and navy. Even the easy-to-wear silhouettes conjure the analog era with menswear-inspired shirt coats, turtlenecks, boxy tops, and flared culottes. Meanwhile, rabbit fur coats layer over elongated rib knits, all cinched together by skater belts—an ode to Jonze’s role in documenting OG skaters and BMX pros like Mark Gonzales and Mat Hoffman, to name a few.

Handbags and footwear echo a similar palette of orange and caramel brown, with accents of custom marble leather, tiger-flocked suede, and zebra-printed pony hair. Platform oxfords, boots, and pumps feature stacked heels and functional zip-up details, reinforcing a sportive yet lady-like vibe. We also introduce the Helix cross-body bag and circle-handled totes—a new Opening Ceremony signature reminiscent of camera lenses.

The presentation also featured a few looks from the men’s side, including the Sonic Youth jacquard knit, sweats printed with B-roll stills from the Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage” video, and the exclusive tees girls and guys can score now on the Spring app.

Cottony Reverie: OC Logo Spring/Summer ’15

Ah, the pre-internet age. So many hazy summer breaks spent waiting by our Zach Morris cordless, with nothing but outdoor pools and indoor malls to occupy. Let's throw it back to the good ol’ days, where communication was simpler, limited to letters, numbers, and punctuation—the bits of the ASCII code that trace the latest OC Logo iterations.

From pill-free sweat tees to cotton long-sleeves, we outfitted the basics with a 128-character design and unscrambled the color palette to black, white, and splashy blue. Also on tap is the girl-printed T-shirt reminiscent of top-down days with sunglasses up and the wind in your hair.

Feeling far away? Sink deeper into nostalgia, longing, or whatever you want to call it, and let these tops cushion the fall.

Fashion Week doesn’t mean the same to others as it does to us industry-folk. Namely because loving fashion doesn’t necessarily translate to access. And we know more than anyone, the “other guys” are often the true influencers. For NYFW this season, we teamed up with our friends at Spring to change things up—for real, we beat Uber Kittens.

Our next mission? Bringing the Opening Ceremony Fall/Winter 2015 show to you. At the start of our show on Sunday night, five styles of twelve limited-edition tees each featuring never-before-seen photography by Spike Jonze were released exclusively on the Spring app. These must-have tees will be available until 11:59PM EST on Thursday, February 19. While the full collection releases in September, let's be honest: who really wants to wait that long?

Check out the early ‘90s 35 millimeter photos of Drew Barrymore, Chloë Sevigny, Mark Gonzales, Beastie Boys, and Spike himself above. After you’re done fawning over the image of ‘90s-era Drew being ‘90s-era Drew, shop ‘em here.

Whether or not you made it to our show, it doesn’t have to mean that you missed out—we gotchu.

Our Top OC Fall/Winter 2015 Picks: Dress Edition

From ‘90s alt-girl elements to convertible collars to prints inspired by Spike Jonze’s doodles, the Fall/Winter 2015 presentation was full of subculture references and strong, strong needs. And since we could always use a good dress, we rounded up our top faves to ooh and aah. Time to make room in that closet girl, because these are coming soon!
Opening Ceremony Oris Twill Funnel Neck Sleeveless Dress - Seeing double? In just one blink, this double-layered dress unfastens from a funnel neck to an open collar—all done in Japanese-sourced viscose twill for a luminous, picture-perfect silhouette.

Opening Ceremony Rib Layered Sleeveless Invisible Strap Maxi Dress - Even the essential black dress alludes to the analog days of film photography with clear, vinyl straps that give the silky bib the illusion of floating. But no camera tricks here—it’s all one dress connected with matte ribbed crepe.
Opening Ceremony Daisy Scribble Print Arrow Collar Pullover Dress - For one of the collection’s star prints, we lifted the scribble design from a whimsical daisy that Spike doodled—just for us! So of course, we screen-printed it on lightweight rayon for a fluid, wrinkle-resistant piece you can throw on with the same carefree quality as Spike’s photographs. (Fun fact: the collar unbuttons, too!)
Opening Ceremony Chain Stripe Long-Sleeve Mini-Dress - Reminiscent of the cozy, casual layers of the ‘90s alt girls, this knitted dress layers tactile merino wool ribbing over navy nylon for a spongy, stretchy feel. It’s like a sweater, a dress, and a mini all in one. No. Brainer.

A-Listers Pick Their Favorite Spike Jonze Moment

0

Whether you’ve attempted to fool yourself into thinking you’re as badass as the Beastie Boys in “Sabotage,” or suddenly found yourself curiously intrigued by every character that John Malkovich has played since 1999, the fact is this: at one point in your life you were obsessed with director/photographer/generally-dope-human-being Spike Jonze and his work.

Being asked to pick your favorite Spike Jonze work-of-art is quite similar to learning how to lip-synch the lyrics of The Pharcyde’s “Drop” backwards: nearly impossible.

There are far too many great moments in his wide-breadth of a career to focus solely on one. While it is quite apparent that OC Founders Carol Lim and Humberto Leon have a personal taste for Jonze’s 35-milimeter archive photos, we were dying to know everyone else’s personal faves.

So we asked some of the A-list guests at the OC Fall/Winter 2015 presentation the hard-hitting question:
What is your favorite Spike Jonze moment?

"I just spoke with Spike and told him that a lot of his work—like "Oh So Quiet" by Björk and Beastie Boys’ "Sabotage"—inspired me as a director and really made me want to go to film school and learn the trade. Everything that he did was sort of interesting because it spoke from his aesthetic and style. At that time, a lot of the music videos were coming out—it wasn’t in this moment of contrivance. Everyone was speaking from their own style and it was cool to see that he had a sense of humor, he was fun, and that he came from the skate subculture. It really just showed his fun spirit and sense of humor and I think he’s been someone who never necessarily took himself too seriously. I feel like in the world of music videos, people are so focused on this false image and Spike was always just so playful and I always appreciate that." —Vashtie

"My favorite photo of his from this exhibit is the one from the Biggie video with the little kids and the Lil’ Kim girl and all that. I also like all of the collages for sure." —YG

"When I think of Spike, I think of the early skateboard photos. I grew up looking at magazines and [his photos] were in magazines at the time. I’m just so nostalgic when I see it now. But since they’re so that time-period and the way they photographed them. It isn’t really like that in the business now and skateboarding was really fun back then and in these photos it looks like they’re goofing around having fun. That’s what I kind of try to do today with kids and it’s a way different ball game. He captured a good time in that world. I’m a big fan of the music videos too! I’m just such a sucker for when we were younger and everything back then. It’s harder to keep it up and come out with something new now and not have it look so forced is really. But yeah, the skate photos really nail it for me." —William Strobeck

"Björk’s "It’s Oh So Quiet" video is amazing! I’m a huge Bjork fan. I remember discovering her because I used to steal my uncle’s CDs and then she had released

Kanye, we’re really happy for you, and we’re gonna let you finish, but EYTYS continues to have the best sneaker releases of all time.

Each season, EYTYS manages to bring the high-end sneaker game somewhere it’s never been before. This season, the Swedish brand takes us into the streets of Ukraine with a new collection inspired by the political climate in Kiev. Joing forces with visual artist Sasha Kurmaz, the classic Odyssey Sneaker and Mother Sneaker gets tagged with a graffiti-inspired custom print that touches on radical subject matter. OC's After Party Brought The Sunday Night Turn Up

Very few things will get New Yorkers to step outside of their apartments when it's 10 degrees outside (yes, we said 10 degrees). But some things, like say, the Fifty Shades of Grey premiere, the launch of a new Mansur Gavriel bag at OC, and of course an Opening Ceremony after party, are just too good to miss.

After our Fall/Winter 2015 presentation on Sunday night, over 300 of our closest friends and family packed local NYC restaurant/club hybrid, Happy Ending. And, boy, was it a night to remember (or forget, if you had more than four cocktails). Spike and Humberto ordered 10 pizzas right away—because who wouldn't be hungry after throwing a presentation like this? Red Bull drinks and Svedka cocktails flowed while Ni** Sky, SSION, and Dicap spun the latest hits into the wee hours of the night. Needless to say, we're still recovering...

You came to the right place for your one-of-a-kind fashion coverage because Opening Ceremony is giving you an all-access pass to NYFW Fall/Winter 2015. In typical OC fashion, we're doing things a little differently—with just the show essentials and backstage highlights. Above, backstage photos from the KTZ Fall/Winter 2015 show, where the vibe was undoubtedly Dances with Wolves-gone-couture.

Show: KTZ

Location: Milk Studios

Winning Look: Neo-futuristic, fringed floor-length robe paired with a shell cap bearing a stiff leather feather, embellished platform mules, and signature KTZ disk earrings.

Inspired by: The collection drew upon Indo-American traditions, as well as the empowered, self-sufficient nature of the “primal woman.” Rooted in the ideals of “abundance,” designer Marjan Pejoski worked lavish textures and feminine shapes into his inaugural NYFW collection. The garments were swathed with Navajo and Apache iconography (as well as geometric patterns in primary colors), while accessories included reworked woven chest plates, thickset Zuni necklaces, and beaded neck-rings.

Reminded us of: Dances with Wolves-gone-couture. The caps reminded us of feathered Native American chief headdresses.

Wear it to: The oversized tapestry robe looks like a cozy-cool dream, made to be worn all winter long.

Spotted: Whoopi Goldberg, Jhené Aiko, The Cobra Snake, Fabolous, TK and Cipriana Quann, plus a man wearing a head-to-toe archival Comme Des Garçons polka dot pant suit and top hat.

Overheard: “Woah, Fabolous looks just like Slick Rick these days.” Front Row Quote: “That was explosive—like a breathtakingly beautiful rainbow!” —Icelandic artist Hrafnhildur Arnardottir aka Shoplifter

Soundtrack: Tribal drums re-rubbed into a futuristic techno/house melody.Photos by Derek Anthony Welte
